The Unmask Cancer 2023 Football Tournament
June 3rd saw us hold our 2nd charity football tournament and what a day it was.
The sun was shining we had 4 teams ready to battle it out to become the unmask cancer champions, inflatables for the kids, and our favorite Choice FM DJ Dubble S who made sure the day ended with people on the dance floor dancing the night away to all our favorite tunes and best of all we raised £1800 for our chosen cancer charities.
This year the tournament was held at Long Lane FC and we have to say they went above and beyond for us ensuring nothing was too much of a problem on the day, they really made the day what is was especially the legend that is Jane, thank you Jne we couldn't have done it without you and thank you to the amazing bar staff who were so much fun and actually up on the dancefloor with us at one point.
I would like to say the most enormous heartfelt thank you to every single person who helped volunteer on the day and to all the players who took part, we had some great matches which were all once again filmed by Film My Match and are available on youtube to watch (or drop us an email) and our photographer for the Day Finn McSkimming once again smashed it with his photos.
A huge congratulations to Dome F.C. who were the very well-deserved winners this year and well played to the other 3 teams Kane Design & Build, AJT F.C, and DMc F.C.
Thank you to all the refs and linos for their part in the day and to the two ladies who came and set up stalls selling their products.
our fantastic fun ball pit was provided by one of our favorite event companies With Love Hope and our other favorite Loving Moment events provided the photo wall.
BjJ's Bouncy Castles provided the Bouncy Castle, Giant Dartboard, and 2 penalty shootouts.
We had some fantastic prizes as always but this year we introduced a star raffle where we had 5 top prizes
- A Playstation 5
- A 50" Toshiba smart Tv
- Nintendo Switch Light
- £100 Jd sports voucher
- A voucher worth over £200 for 12 people to enjoy a night at strike bowling.
In the normal raffle, we had a big selection of great prizes from Sanctuary Spa gift sets, Lush gift sets, both me an women's Bayliss and Hrding gift sets to vodka, rock climbing, makeup vouchers, bowling vouchers, Geggs vouchers, Farm trips, mini golf, nail care vouchers, floatation take voucher, dinner for 4 at Mamma Doughs Pizza restaurant, a full Childs Farm gift set, cooking class vouchers and so much more.
Thank you 100xs over to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle, you played a huge part in making £1800 and bringing us to needing to raise £5,024.50 at our Winter Wonderland ball in November which will bring us to our goal of raising £30,000 for cancer charities in 5 years.
We will 100% be doing this again next year, more than likely in June!
