The winter wonderland ball was every bit as magical as we envisioned it to be and wow was this was a ball packed with surprises making it a night to remember.
We surprised our guests with the very hard to keep secret announcement that we are now officially a registered cancer charity, it was a hard secret to keep but one we really wanted to share with all our guests who have supported us over the last 5 years and introduce our new guests to what Unmask Cancer is all about. For the first time in 5 years I read my own speech which was a huge deal for me as public speaking terrifies me and I really do not like being centre of attention but with it being my milestone year of reaching 5 years on remission and the charity announcement I knew it was something I had to at least try and do and then and the night wasn’t magical enough we had our first ever proposal at one of our events, the biggest congratulations to our long time supporters Krystal and Scott we are so happy for you and it was amazing to be part of your special moment.
Once again we were very lucky to have Kane Design & Build make our props which really brought lithe theme to life. the entrance this year was a narnia wardrobe which then brought you into a winter forest with Christmas trees everywhere, we had stunning silver thrones as part of our photo wall and then a ski lift for even more fun photos which was also built by Kane Design & BuiLtd.
It was amazing to have so many new faces, new sponsors Aesthetics by Sally and Aesthetically pleasing by Hannah who we can not thank enough along with some incredible prices in both the auction and raffle.
There was a brilliant piece of art donated by the incredibly talented Will McNally, lots of football memorabilia and adventure prizes in the auction.
We had the most amount of raffle prizes of all balls so far, there was lots of lovely skin and boy are products, tickets to see frozen the musical, groom pillows, beauty vouchers, activity voucher and so much more.
For the ball we needed to raise just over £5000 to hit our target of raising £30,000 in 5 years for cancer charities and I am beyond happy to say we reached that target and our total reached £30,480.26 which was an amazing amount to finish on raising money for other charities before we solely concentrate on raising money for our now registered charity.
Everyone looked amazing, all our vendors done the most amazing job supplying us with all the products we needed to make the night perfect and of course no unmask cancer event is complete without our no1 DJ Dubble S bringing the tunes and packing out the dance floor all night.
We would like to thank everyone who attended, sponsored, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets and bid in the auction allowing us to reach our target total and of course our biggest thanks has to go to Surrey National Golf Club for hosting us once again.
The whole night was brilliant from start to finish, it couldn’t have gone better or looked better. If I could relive it all over again I’d do it in a heartbeat.
Photos will be added in the next few days, with two fantastic photographers and our favourite photobooth from my fun Photo Booth we have some brilliant photos to share with you. They are already on our Instagram and Facebook pages but will be added here asap.
Thank you again to everyone who made it the most amazing night, we can not wait for this years 80s ball.
