Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. Since 1999 Willow has fulfilled more than 17,000 Special Days for young adults living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease. For some their Special Day is the opportunity to return some normality to their lives. For others it is the last chance to fulfil a dream. But for all, at what is the most difficult of times, a Special Day can lift spirits, reunify families and be a source of strength when it’s needed most. Founded by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter, Bob Wilson and his wife Megs, Willow is a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31. Anna’s love of life and the enriching experiences of her own Special Days were the charity’s inspiration.

Special Days
For people living with a life-threatening illness, every day is precious. The pressures of diagnosis, treatment and recovery can have a devastating effect on work and family life. Willow aims to redress the balance: providing unique and unforgettable Special Days tailored to your needs. We make every effort to ensure a stress-free, seamless experience, not just meeting but exceeding your expectations. For some a Special Day is their last chance to fulfil a dream, for others, it provides the opportunity to simply return some normality back into their lives or mark the end of treatment and a new beginning. But for all, a Special Day creates treasured memories at the most difficult of times. Willow offers three types of Special Day: Special Day Out: this could be a day trip to a theme park, attraction, sporting event or the theatre Special Day at Home: this could be a party, photoshoot or film night in your own home. These are particularly suitable for people who are less mobile or who are unable to easily leave home. Special Break: this could be an overnight stay (i.e. hotel or B&B) or a slightly longer break, for example at a holiday park.
How it all began
Willow was founded in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter, Bob Wilson and his wife, Megs, as a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31. Anna battled her cancer for five years but it was during these years that she, her family and friends, experienced some of their most memorable moments together. Her self named ‘Special Days’ became a focus for quality of time and quality of life, providing a welcome distraction from the challenging realities of living with a serious and life-threatening illness and restoring some normality back into all their lives. Willow has aimed to replicate the benefits of Anna’s ‘Special Days’ by providing similar positive, motivating and uplifting experiences for other seriously ill young adults.
The Little Princess Trust has been helping children and young people since 2006.
The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
We have a trusted network of salons, and wigs are fitted at an approved salon closest to you. We start by matching as closely as possible to the natural hair colour. Because it’s real hair, the wig can be cut, curled, or straightened to match an original look — or to create a new style. We know there’s a lot going on for you, so we make it very easy to deal with us. You can phone or email us, whichever is better for you. Rest assured that we value your privacy and will never share your information, except with those involved in fitting your wig. Providing free real hair wigs is at the heart of what we do, but we also want to support the development of less aggressive and less toxic cancer treatments. In 2016, thanks to the huge efforts of our fantastic fundraisers, we were able to begin funding academics and organisations involved in researching the causes of paediatric cancer. When The Little Princess Trust first began, we hoped for a day when there would no longer be a need for an organisation like this. We hope, by funding research, to one day make this a reality.
The Little Princess Trust provides free, real-hair wigs for young cancer sufferers or for children and young people experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss. We also fund pioneering, life-saving research into childhood cancers. We use hair donations and fundraising monies sent to us by our amazing supporters, to manufacture and fit our beautiful real hair wigs. Established in 2006, we have supplied over 8000 wigs to children and young people and have invested circa £5 million into ground-breaking childhood cancer research. Watch our latest film to find out more about our charity.
Last year we were able to help hundreds of children and young people by arranging fitted, real hair wigs, free of charge. There are many elements that add to the cost of the wigs, including: manufacture, storage, salon fees, and so on — but, it’s important that we continue to do this for free.
Since we began funding research into childhood cancers, we have provided grants totaling circa £5,000,000. Applications for this funding must pass our rigorous review and must ultimately benefit children. By offering practical help and funding research, we are able to help children now and into the future. We are able to continue doing this, thanks to the fantastic support of our donors and fundraisers. We keep a very close eye on every penny raised and spent. If you have any queries relating to this, please get in touch with us.

To help young adults with cancer in the UK to thrive with, through and beyond a diagnosis of cancer.
Every day in the UK 34 young adults are diagnosed with cancer. Trekstock exists to ensure that no young adult in the UK faces it alone.
Most young people take moving into their 20s and 30s for granted, however every year in the UK more than 12,500 young adults are told they have cancer. We feel more strongly than ever that this group of young adults need and deserve an organisation dedicated to providing information and support programmes to help them deal with the emotional and physical impact of cancer and to help get them moving again once treatment ends. Trekstock delivers practical and social support programmes tailored to the needs of young adults, to give them a better chance of living well through and beyond cancer. All of our programmes are developed in collaboration with the people we support and work to improve their physical and psychological wellbeing, their quality of life and provide them with the tools they need to get moving again through and beyond treatment.
We recognise that each young adult with cancer will experience it differently, therefore we offer a variety of tailored exercise support, expert practical advice and an active online and offline community. We are there for young adults when cancer stops them in the prime of their life.
Psychological wellbeing, physical activity and social support are the most common subjects that our Trekstock community tell us they need support with. Therefore, we work hard to provide a range of holistic support to meet the variety of needs of young adults with cancer.A note on Psychological wellbeing: often for our community, they are looking for peer support, somebody to listen to them and support them in handling the questions, anxiety and isolation that often comes as part of a diagnosis. We provide this support through our online forum, regional meet-ups, through conversations with our health team and free access to a meditation app called Headspace, which around 25% of our community uses. We don’t provide psychological counselling services, but signpost people to fantastic charities that exist to provide these services, where needed.

All About Us We are the first breast cancer charity in the UK to solely create awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling the knowledge and tools they need to get to know their bodies. We like to talk about a serious message in a light-hearted way, empowering people to start healthy habits for life.
Our Vision We want everyone to have the best possible chance of surviving breast cancer. Ideally we want to live in a world where all breast cancers are diagnosed at the earliest stage possible, at which treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Although our main focus is on breast cancer education, we also instigated the #RETHINKCANCER Campaign, as we strongly believe young people should be taught about all cancers and how to lead healthy lives from a young age.
Our Mission To ensure all breast cancers are diagnosed early and correctly by… Encouraging you to check your boobs and pecs regularly from a young age. Educating you on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer. Empowering you to seek advice from a doctor if symptoms persist.
What we do
BaggyTrousersUK is a cancer charity based in the North West of England, it was founded by Jack Broadley in 2014. After going through his own experience of testicular cancer at the age of 21, Jack decided to take on this challenge to embark on a journey that would inspire him to helping others that have been affected by the illness that he’d once had. Jack felt an inherent urge to make a difference in the lives of males affected by testicular cancer and that, with the charity being run by a survivor, he could get the message across to others by the telling of his experience.
Our Aims
1. To promote and protect the physical and mental health of sufferers of testicular cancer.
2. To provide financial assistance, support, education and practical advice to those affected by testicular cancer.
3. To advance the education of the general public in all areas relating to testicular cancer.
As a charity we deliver a number of different services, we raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer, actively promoting the benefits of early detection and encouraging males to visit their GP if they detect any of the signs or symptoms.
We deliver engaging awareness talks and showcase awareness exhibitions/stands in public and corporate places handing out self-help materials such as leaflets, posters and step-by-step checking cards.
We provide financial and peer support to men who have been directly affected by testicular cancer via telephone, email, social media and a monthly peer support group.
